Michael Rohde's Statement

For more than thirt years, I've been exploring color relationships in my work, often in pure geometry with no particular reference to objects or ideas. Over the past eight or nine years, some semblance of content, or more obvious reference to other textiles has begun to creep into the work.

The current work uses the house image as a starting point, and explores many meanings of home and shelter, as well as the disruptions to these essentials by the actions of man and nature.
