In fact, there was a cool, geometric sensibility there that made Benjamin’s weavings seem absolutely emotional in comparison. It made me return to look once again at her work and to note that they did exude an emotional timber as well as a sensual one. I left with great appreciation for this artist who offered a feast for my eyes of lush materials beautifully transformed into a pleasurable world of color, form and transparency; a world that led me to breath slower, absorbing more of the beauty present.

The Weaving Southwest website has good images of all of the work in Karen Benjamin’s exhibit, "Circles and Curves" on line.
